Notes:
Search for Lars Jensen's birth (see research log for details and references): Facts Known: Lars was 29 1/2 when he moved from Kastrup Parish to Kong Parish, 6 May 1853. If this age is accurate, it would put his birth date somewhere between about August, 1823 and February, 1824. He is also cited as being "of Klatskov", which could be a reference to birthplace. Lars was 31 when he was married 5 Jan 1855 in Kong Parish. If this is an accurate statement of age and age is recorded to the 1/2 year (other entries on the same ledger page in the same handwriting are recorded in 1/2 years), this would put his birthdate somewhere between about October, 1823 and April, 1824. He appears to have been living in Sallerupgaard (a farm near the town of Sallerup) at this time. At Lars' marriage there was a witness named Jens Larsen, a tailor of Kjong. Possibly Lars' father. At the Christening of Christian Larsen , Lars' son, in Fanefjord Parish there was a witness named Jens Larsen, a tailor of Kjong. Possibly Lars' father. The town of Sallerup in Kong parish is very close to the north border of Svaerdborg parish and there is a town named Klarskov in the center of Svaerdborg parish. Kastrup parish is just south of Svaerdborg. A number of Lars Jensens have been found with birthdates between 1819 and 1828 in Praesto Amt., Denmark by searching parish records in Fanefjord , Magleby, Kastrup, Kong, Vordingborg, and Svaerdborg and by search the Scandinavian Vital Records Index CD (SVRI). The following are of special interest, but more information is available in my detailed research log. Svaerdborg - born 16 Sep 1823. father Jens Larsen of Snertinge (a town in eastern Svaerdborg, close to Klarskov). Mother Karen Petersd. Christened 17 Sep 1823 and 21 or 26 Oct 1823. I think this is the most likely candidate for "our" Lars Jensen. Magleby - born 3 Apr 1822 (christened 5 May 1822). Father renter Jens Larsen, Mother Ane Marie ChristiansD. of Liselum. Fairly far from birth window, but father's name is probably right. This person appears as "our" Lars in Ancestral file, but is probably wrong. Fanefjord - born 5 May 1822 with father Jens Madsen and mother Mette Kirstine JacobsD. of Haarbolle. Christened 23 June 1822. This is NOT "our" Lars Jenson. The 1855 census has a Lars Jensen, age 33 (the right age), born in Fanefjord and still living there, married to Bodil Andersen, with a 2 year old son. This person also appears as "our" Lars in Ancestral file, but is definitely wrong. Have searched for Lars Jensen in 1855 census in the following parishes: Kjong, Lundby, Svaerdborg, Kastrup, Hammer, Fanefjord, Keldby, Magleby, Damsholte The following Lars Jensens were found: Kjong- 32 years, of Sallerup, married - possible match, but Maren not listed. In household with several unmarried people in their 20s. Svaerdborg- 30 years, married, born in Svaerdborg, no Maren listed. Fanefjord - see above under Fanefjord. Again, see research log for many additional census searches, including some on the internet at www.ddd.sa.dk Lars Jensen's vaccination information as recorded on his marriage record and move-in record in Kong sogn is: Vacc. of Heyde on 11 June 1825. Note that Heyde is referenced on most vaccination notations in the marriage records on pages surrounding the Lars/Maren marriage record. This indicates that Lars was in Kjøng in June 1825 or in a nearby parish served by the same doctor, possibly Sværdborg.

Notes:
Name: at christening Maren Stine Christians Datter; sometimes an Americanized version, Mary Frantzen (her father was Christian Frantzen) was used. Spellings and usage vary. In various documents she is listed as Mary Christiansen C. Peterson, Maren Kirstine Christensen, Maren K. Christiansen, Maren Kierstine Larsen (when she boarded ship in Copenhagen), Maren K. Christenson. Mary Christensen, Mary Christine Frantzen, Mary Franzen, Stena Peterson (1870 census).

Notes:
Haarbolle is on the island of Mon. Christian was christened as Christian Larsen. His father was Lars Jensen. He was later adopted, either formally or informally by Jens Petersen, his mother's 2nd husband. In any case he assumed the Petersen (Peterson) name. It is interesting to note that when he was endowed, he gave his parents names as Lars Jensen and Mary Franzen (Americanized version of Maren Christiansen - her father's name was Christian Frantzen). Christian was ordained an Elder, Endowed and Married (Sealed) on April 11, 1978 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake. The ordinances were performed by Joseph F. Smith. Christian served a mission in Denmark, leaving Price on 14 February 1900 and returning to Price on 21 May 1902. SP info from LeVern Adam's "History of Christian Jensen Petersen", copy of 2 page document in possession of Thomas Maxfield. The proxy was his half-brother Gilbert Petersen. This sealing was to Maren Stine Christiansen and Jens Petersen. Vera Boren's history of Christian Peterson says that Christian worked on both the St. George and Manti temples. When they moved to the Uintah Basin, the Nephi Branch of the Duchesne Ward was formed on 23 Sep 1906 and Christian Peterson was called as the first Presiding Elder.
