OBITUARY form the 'LITTLE River Monitor" Vol. 32 #19 dated 11 oct 1917: Fred Dressler as a young man came west and located in the state of Michigan where, on Christmas 25 Dec 1856 he married Miss Lucinda Hatfield. He came to Rice County, Kansas, in an early day and settled on a farm near Crawford, where he lived for a number of years. He professed religion many years ago and united with the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Forest HOME school house. He was a good man, and had many friends who, with his sorrowing relatives, will miss him much. He said, just a few days before he died, that he was ready to leave this world, and his loved ones said good-bye expecting to meet him in the better world. HIs death certificate listed the cause of death as Cystitis (age 85 years) His parents are sometimes listed as John Dressler and Mary Crum but many think his parents were really George Dressler and Sarah Fischer. Frederick was listed as a farmer. BIRTH: 1850 census shows Frederick as 16 DEATH: he was age 85 when he died. Nine children were born to them--5 sons and 4 daughters.Three sons and two daughters survive him--W.E. and Grant Dressler of Hutchinson: Charles Dressler of Geneseo: Mrs. M>F> Rose of Satanta, Kansas, and Mrs. E.E.
