Karl only went by the name of Charles all of his life. His ashes are buried at Green Acres Memoria Gardens in Scottsdale, AZ. Nancy Skiba Shay had tape recorded him telling his life story several years before he died. He and his wife, Caroline, aka Lena, were married in St. Michael's Church in Chicago, Illinois.

She always went by "Lena". Her life's history was tape recorded by
grandaughter, Nancy Eileen Skiba Shay. She was christened and married in St.
Michael's Church, Chicago, Illinois. She never used the name Louise.

She was buried at Green Acres Cemetary. In her lifetime, she was a waitress,
a supervisor at Motorola and she created Wedding Cakes. She died of breast
cancer. Many years later, it was found that people who worked at Motorola at
the same place and time she did, died at young ages from various forms of
cancer. This resulted in a large class action law suit against Motorola. Our
family did not participate in the law suit. But took some comfort in the
understanding of her untimely death. No one else in our family has ever had
breast cancer and Ruth was an extremely healthy person all her life.
