                   Samuel's parents died the first winter in the New World.  He was then put in the care of his father's brother, Dr. Samuel Fuller, who also came on the Mayflower.  In his will of 30 July 1633, Dr. Samuel Fuller bequeaths "to my son Samuel...., and if he should die, then to my kinsman, Samuel FUller, now in the house with me."
