Peder PEDERSEN
NOTES: Explanation of change of name from Pedersen to Thompson. Peder Pedersen married a widow, Dorthea Andersen Thomasen and went to live on her farm. He took the name of Thomasen. When they came to America, they kept the Thomasen name. Why the spelling Thompson, which is Englsh and Scottish, has been used, no one seems to know.
