"Beyond the clouds of the sunset sky, The soul is unfettered and free There's growth in knowledge, in things of God, Throughout all eternity Cleansed and purged of all sin and the dross, In the mansions above of light, Our lives will be crowned with love all supreme-- No shadows of sorrow or light Beyond the dark and the twilight sea, The sea where the deep surges roll, Is a place prepared where friendships sweet Will ever enrich the soul. Where trouble shall come never more; But with the Lord and the pure and the true, We shall dwell on eternity's shore Beyond our To-day to-morrow lies-- Infinities await the blest We there may toil witih no weariness, And never a thought of rest From star to star in that bright Beyond, We then may be able to move; For "eye hath not seen nor ear hath heard" * Or measured God's wonderful love Beyond the peaks of the silent hills No parties shall come, no fear--- The chorus of the redeemed shall resound, And the angels' song we shall hear No misunderstandings ere shall come, Mysteries we may then understand-- When light of the Cross shall have led far away To the brightness of Glory-land (*I
SOURCES: 1. Obituary Walter Lowe Haines, son of John and Mary (Waterston) Haines, was born in Bridgewater Township Feb. 5, 1873 and passed away at the hospital in Angola, Ind., March 8, 1927, aged 54 years, one month and three days. On March 31, 1897 he was united in marraige to Ellen Ingram, and to this happy union were born five children, four daughters and one son, all of whom survive him. On June 18, 1917 death deprived him of his beloved comopanion, since which time with his children around him he still maintained the home, now made sacred to them forever by the hallowed memories of him. In the daeth of Mr. Haines our community loses one of its best known and most highly respected citizens. Only a few days ago he seemed so strong and vigorous in health that it is now difficult to realize he has gone from among us. We are led to say with the Psalmist: "Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am." Mr. Haines was ambitious to succeed especially for the sake of those who depended upon him. He was devoted to his family, and did not spare himself to make them comfortable and happy. It was always a pleasure to meet him. The Grange, the community at large, and especially the members of his family wukk greatly miss him. He leaves five children, three grandchildren, his mother, one sister, three brothers and many other relatives and friends. "The odor of a fragrant flower doth last Long after outweard loveliness is gone; So when a beautious life seems spent and past, The sweetness of its influence liveth on." Funeral services were conducted in the First U. B. church of Montpelier Thursday afternoon (March 10th) at two o'clock, in charge of Rev. L. E. Ames. Appropriate and beautiful music was rendered by Mr. Irving Miller and Miss Verle Kirk, accompanied by Mrs. L. E. Ames. The body was laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.

Dearest One, most mild and lovely, Gentle as the sumer breeze, Pleasant as the air of evening When it floats among the trees. Peaceful be thy silent slumber Peaceful in the grave so low Thou no more will join our number Thou no more our songs shall know. Dearest One, thou hast left us. Here, thy loss we deeply feel But 'tis God that hath bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal. Yet again we hope to meet thee When the day of life is fled. Then in heaven with joy to greet thee Where no farewell tears are shed.
