She was a servant and a spinster at time of marriage. Baptised into the church at age 44 by Priest Wilde. Living in Fair Oaks at the time. Baptism recorded in Southampton Branch records (Film 0087032). Sealed 23 Nov 1867 to Willet Harden in EH but there is no evidence of her living with him as his wife. (Willet Harder was also a convert from Southampton, baptised 8 June 1848, at the age of 25, and therefore knew Mary. Note: there was a second Mary Snelgrove, baptised in Southampton 7 Mar 1849, at age 30. Is this the Mary that was sealed to Harder?) Mary was buried in Thomas Wilde's lot as Mary Snelgrow. There were no dates on the marker.
He was a labourer. Baptised into the church on 15 Nov 1849 by Willet Harder according to Southampton Conference records (film 0087032). He was living in Bishopstoke at the time he was baptised. He emmigrated from England at age 53, with his family, leaving Liverpool on 11 Apr 1859 on the ship "William Tapscott". They crossed the plains with George Rawley's handcart company. In the first part of September, 1859, William, Henry, Thomas, Eliza, Mary, Sarah, and Henry's wife, Jane, and his two children, were met in Echo by William's brother, Henry B. Wild, and by William's other sons John and Fred. They came to Coalville, but went on to Sugar House for the winter. They had come by hand carts and Jane had pulled a hand cart all the way across the plains. They arrived in Sugar House the sixth of September, and on the ninth, Jane gave birth to a baby boy.
Henry was a farmer, miner, labourer and servant (in England). He was married by banns with Sarah Hewlett. He was living with his family in Portswood in 1849 when he and his family joined the church. Henry was age 38 when he joined the church. His baptism is recorded in the Southampton Branch records (Film 00087032).
