John LANGTON

                   RESEARCH NOTE:
    The children of this John Langton are found in the extracted christening records of St Martin's parish in Leicester, Leicester, England.  The children found here are not listed as children of John Langton who was the son of John Langton and Amy Palmer.  The father of these children has an unknown ancestry at this time.  Additional research may reveal new clues from the actual christening records.  The descendancy of the alternate John Langton is given in the notes.

Maddison published his Lincolnshire Pedigrees in 4 volumes. The following was reported on the Langton family in his ''Additional Pedigrees" section at the end: "After the pedigree was printed in Vol. II., pp. 580-586, it was discovered that the hitherto received descent of the present family was entirely wrong. I have, therefore, judged in best to reprint a large portion of the pedigree, as many additional dates have been furnished. - A.R.M."
