MILITARY: - Revolutionary War soldier. Served in Capt. Martin's Co. of Col. Sippitt's regiment, which was called to serve in Washington's army. General Washington visited his home in Rensselae Co., NY, and asked that he name his oldest son George Washington Hakes, which he did. - Soldier in War of 1812.
