      1. 1850 Census - Charles W. Stevens (age 40 - farmer) - Polly Smith (age 41)- Charles H. Stevens (age 19 - farmer - goes to school) - Emily N. Stevens (age18) - William F. Stevens (age 16 - farmer - goes to school) - Isaac M. Stevens(age 14 - goes to school) - John W. Stevens (age 12 - goes to school) - MatildaStevens (age 23 - Born in MO - can't read or write) - Henry C. Stevens (age 12)
      2. Necessary Explanations: These children were with Jeffesrson Smith (Family#405, Dist #2) in the 1850 Census of Ohio County, KY. The couple above (Charlesand Polly) would only be 17 and 18 years of age when Matilda was born (once ina while I've seen couples this young).
      3. Jefferson Smith - age 46 - Born abt 1804 - farmer - value $1,000 - Born in KY - can't read or write - Had these Stevens children with him - no wife and no other children (see Dist. 2, Family #405)
