Major Frank Langdon Wilcox - attended Berlin Academy, until age 12 - then he went to St.Paul's School - Concord, NH Gradurated 1876 and entered Trinity College - Hartford. He graduated in 1880 with AB degree. He went to work for Peck,Stow & Wilcox Company as a clerk. In 1885 he was the manager of Kensington Shops, Treasurer of Iron Bridge Company, Ex. Vice President of Peck, Stow & Wilcox Company, Preisdent of Fidelity Trust Company of Hartford, Director of Pheonix Mutual Life Insurance Company of Hartford, the Berlin Savings , American Hosiery, President Of J.O. Smith Manufacturing Company. 2. The Wilcox family of East Berlin, has been most prominently associated and identified with the history of Connecticut since the days of earliest settlement. At one time in the town of Berlin, there were 25 voters in the Wilcox family - today Frank Langdon Wilcox is the only voter in the name of the town. His father decends from Captain John Wilcox who cammanded 1000 lances at Battle of Hastings in 1066 - against William the Conquerer.
