NOTES:
From Book #929.2 Chapman (Orlando, FL Pub Lib) Ancestral Lines of Robert Chapman & David Thomson, by Dorothy Chapman Saunders pp64-73:  "Robert Chapman is said to have come from Hull in England, aged about 18--arrived in Boston in 1635. From there he sailed with Lyon Gardiner on Nov 3 for Saybrook, CT, as one of the men sent over to settle land and build a ford, near the mouth of the Conn. River...Afterwards, three sisters came over too."
   1. He owned large areas of land
   2.  Was elected from Saybrook 52 times to be member of State Legislature
   3. Upon his death, he left each of his sons 1500 acres of land in Hebron.
   4. He also owned land in East Haddam, as well as Saybrook (see pp68-71 sources used and author's visit to England)
   5. Whether his ancestors came is uncertain, but both of his children, Rebecca and Robert, came to America.
