Aaron Bartlett - Shoemaker - Was the first Postmaster of Cherry Cheek, NY - Pioneer type and seldom remained long in one place. He was a very jovial character original and in some wys eccentive. He never wore a coat if he could avoid - On his 94 birthday he danced on the Court House Steps in Warren , PA (the last was told by hs grand-daughter Mrs. Lottie s. Costello) 2. 1850 Census - Aaron Bartlett - age 69; wife Charlotte - age 65 3. Aaron Bartlett died at the age of 94 years in the home of son Russell Bartlett. 4. Charlotte Webber Bartlett died atthe home of her son Ransom Bartlett.

His hotel was patronized by men & merchants going to the oil fields in PA. Sol owned 100 acres of timber & other property. When he became old, he speculated in oil stock & lost a great deal. He was one of wealthiest men in Lottsville, PA in 1860; an innkeeper, age 45 (1850 Census) value #2,600 After he died a local man got his farm. 1873 hotel burned. Mother's Bible burned in it. Child #2 was killed while hunting. Seth Bartlett TITLE: Rev. Seth Grover Bartlett (Child #4) BURIALS: Old Cemetery (South of Village) nr site of the old town of Rock Falls (husb); Cherry Creek Cemetery (wife) where her father and mother are buried DEATH: 14 Jul 1861/24 Dec 1924 (Child #1) NOTES: In Michigan husb had a business of making shingles. He had several farms and became "well to do". Shuler Bartlett was a successful Indian trader. The Indians liked him and sold their last 80 acres when they moved away. In 1850 husb and a son moved to MI; owned hotel in Waterboro. Husb & wife were md by Jarrus Nash.

A tailor-lived in Warren, PA many years. He owned and managed a men's clothing store. He was a man of considerable wealth and standing in the community. After the death of his father, Russell, with his wife Sarah and sons Henry and Will went West. Russell lived and died in Salt Lake City. Henry and Will went to Montana. Henry Bartlett finally moved to Salt Lake City and owned the Maxim Hotel. While Henry was in Montana he operated the bee-Hive Store & Punty Restaurant. Henry was all his life a liberal, benevolent, Christian man. After his father died, he took his stepmother each winter to California where it is reported, she died. Will Bartlett was an expert oil well operator. He had oil wells in Brigham, UT and Los Angeles, CA.
