Ancestral File NOTES: Husb came from MA; famous "Bartlett Farm" near Elgin, DuPage, IL-700 acres; sheep farmer; Wife helped feed the people made homeless by Chicago fire. In 1908 there were only 6 living children; Widow Sophia survived by 6 children, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren & 1 gggrandchild. Widow says on p. 5 of the above film "From the first we prospered on the farm & there were no tragic incidents to mar our life. We lived along here much as other farmers do, gradually improving our place & suffering ups & downs from the climate, which is the story of a farmer's life anywhere". Mrs. Bartlett said-although she & Luther were not relatives, they were schoolmates when they both lived in Conway, MA.
