NOTES:  Husb did farming and scythe manufacturing; lived with father awhile-
          then built his home. Died in this house (youngest child 9 mo & oldest
          age 10 when he died.
          Wife was a fine tailor-'best in these parts" supported her family. After
          husb's death, she moved her family to Diamond Hill.
         House and farm occupied by Miss Alpha Bartlett-dau of Eber's son David.
         During Eber's brief illness, he was most of the time-delirious. He is
         described as medium height, very finely built and very active and
         gentlemanly.  Wife's description-as being very straight and unusually
         smart and afraid of nothing. Son, Bani, carried frooo mother in her
         old age.
BURIAL: Burying ground-opposite the old Elder Ballow Meeting House (wife)
NOTES: Re Child #4: "She was a typical old maid of excessive neatness and had
          a fondness for Buff Color in dress, always wearing something of that
          color. She was a favorite of children and was of a kind, benevolent
          disposition....In person, Saloma was a tall, erect figure, and her
          manners were in accordance with her amiable temper and good heart."
          Saloma died at her bro. Bani's house and buried where her mother is.

NOTES: Husb was large and portly-very engaging manners; He was high sheriff in
          Providence, RI; a business man and farmer.
BURIAL: In small enclosure by wife and son (Husb)
FURTHER NOTES: Child #1 never married and was living in 1879.
           Child #2 drowned by breaking through the ice on Peter's River, while

NOTES:
    1. Bani Bartlett, medium height, very straight and of excellent proportions- generally spoken of as a handsome man.  His complexion was rather light; in advanced years - was quite bald on his head.  A man of few words- a very even disposition - In dealing with other people, he used firmness and dignity and good sense.  He was always self-possessed and never allowed himself to exhibit passion or feelings - People said ,"there was never an unkind word or unkind scolding or harsh expression ever excape from his lips."  For more than 20 years he was Deputy Sheriff of Providence County, RI.  His name appears on amy wills, because of his Business capacity, many of his neighbors friends and relatives
    2. Wife Philadelphia Pickering, medium height, rather dark complexion, fair and plump, beautiful dark eyes and was a very charming appearance and of a delightful disposition.  Youngest daughter of her parents, loving mother and a real helpmate as a wife, being gifted with unusual qualities of heart and mind.  she had a sympathetic nature, a real joy to be around.
    3. Bani Bartlett, lived a while with wife's parents in Bellingham until he built his house on the hill.  The land he built his house on was inherited fromhis father.  He built a dam across the brook, just below the house and built a Scythe Shop.  He made scythes, sending them to Boston and other towns to sell them.  All of his sons learned the trade and assisted him.  After many years he gave up the shop and trade moving back on the hill.
    4. This couple were married at Samuel Pickering's house. Marriage was published 6 December 1801.
    4. Bani Bartlett died at age 63, because water came into house through a lead pipe. Buried by the side of his wife, and his mother, son Eber buried there also.  There is one vacant space and then a little grave of Edwin S. Bartlett (infant son of Bani's daughter Sarah and her husband George Tingley) the next space is Sarah -wife of George Tingley and a little daughter Phila (age 2 months) next to her, then Bani's sister Saloma is also buried there.
