Joseph Bartlett went to Danby, VT at age 3 with father; In 1812-drafted to serve in the War; He retained his great mental & physical vigor with little impairment to the end of his life. He was during all his career a very industrious, active man, and resided all his life in Danby. He was a natural & ingenious mechanic, & built a great many houses, much of his work being done by "Scribe Rule", Very quiet man and highly esteemed-built mills also.
