    1. Richard Bartlett of Gloucester, RI - bought lots of land in Killingly. CT.  Bought Lots of land 4 tracts of land - 19 July 1784; 180 acres of "Rhode Island line' 3 April 1785 he bought 80 acres; a couple more purchases of land and a saw and grist mill - 20 jun 1797.  On the farm once owned by him are three cotton factories and their villages - containing 7 or 800 souls - 5 generations of Bartlett's lived in his house
