    1. James Bartlett Sr. Will made 14 april 1821 - Probated February 1823 - administrator of his will James Bartlett Jr. John Massey and Stephen Hubbard.
    2. It took 10 years for James Bartlett Sr. estate to be settled, son Edmund evidently recrived his part of inheritance by his father, when he left Virginia for Kentucky, before or after his marriage in 1800.
    3. The family had a Negro man named Sam, who stayed with the Bartlett children.

    1. Polly Helm, first wife, died leaving a son & a daughter.
    2. William Bartlett came to Daviess Co., KY in 1842; settled in Whitesville Precinct.
    3. William and Zilpha Helm moved to Daviess Co. when son, Samuel W., was eleven years old-year was 1842.  In 1853 his home was used as a school house and also the first meetings of Baptist Church members because they were converted there.
    4. 1850 Census William Bartlett - age 54 - farmer - real estate Value $200.; Wife Polly or Mary - age 48;daughter - Sally age 16; son Helm - age 13.
