NOTE:  Jonathan was going across the fields to give information of the death of his brother-in-law, Ensign Bartlett, who had been crushed by falling under wheels of his cart, and it is supposed that he fell backward as he was getting over the fence and was killed by the fall (History of Sutton,Mass).
