          Admitted a freeman of Gloucester 3 April 1745.
OCCUPATION:  A Lawyer - Constable 1723, Selectman 1726 - Town Clerk
              27 January 1746/1747.  Became first Justice of Peace -
              Until death.
WILL:  Made his will 17 August 1765 - died the next year

          He was an assessor (10 Feb 1746; held other important offices also.
          One of his daughters married Stephen Staples.
          Wife was administrator of his estate.
          Husb was a Quaker.
