NAMES: Deborah Harding/Hardin
NOTES: Husb very intelligent; had strong, positive opinions; settled at
Providence, RI-Constable 1696. He differed with Quaker Belief and was
excommunicated 30 2 Mo 1741; He bought and sold much land. He fearlessly
advocated what he believed to be right. He stipulated in a deed "There shall
be no house of entertainment, nor any strong drinks sold upon the premises
forever." Challenged Baptists & Quakers to argue doctrines. Said they preached
doctrines of the devil. Wife was widow of Abraham Harding.
