NOTES: 1. Deacon Samuel Stocking - Came with his father to MA,they removed to Hartford, CT about 1650, Samuel removed with the first settlers to Middletown. Samuel's name appears as one of the three signers of the Indian Deed of Middletown. He was the first Deacon in the Middletown Church - "Which was organized in 1668). He Samuel - was the representative from Middletown for the years of 1658,1659,1665,1669,1674, 1677, and 1681. 2. Samuel served in the King Phillips War - Probably as a Sergeant. 3. His house stood in Upper Middletown (which is now Cormwell). 4. Last Will and Testiment - All of his children are mentioned except Hannah (who we assume had died) - Leaving his land on the East side of CT River to his sons `George and Ebenezer', ~3 to his Pastor Reverend Nathaniel Collins; The inventory of his estate amounted to ~648:08:08.

George Stocking I - Removed from Upper Middletown to East Middletown, before 1710. He later moved to Cahtham (which is now Portland). His name appears for a single year 1694, on the tax list of Southhampton, Long Island - ( Probably didn't live there for any length of time.) His Estate - Amounted to ~359:09"01 - Was divided among His six children. 2. George Stocking I - was buried at Old Graveyard in Portland, Connecticut.
