Stearns - Vol.#IV (p.1741O DEATH: 1. Due to a train wreck injuries. NOTES: 1. He enlisted - Civil War 1861 in Company D, th Regiment New Hampshire Volunteers. Discharged by reason of dis- ability. After recovering his health he engaged in the grocery business in Manchester, New Hampshire for several years. He sold this and accepted a position in a reform School in Connecticut; became Assistance Superintendent of State Industrial School's of Ohio - later while returning to his duties after a visit to his home, he received in- juries in a railroad wreck, of so serere nature, as to result in his death. 2. They have - no children.

He belonged to several lodges. He attended the Baptist Church of Warner. 3. Wife Nellie - Active in Church work - President of Missionary Society - three years - also taught Sunday School. NAME: Wife Nellie - Ellen J. Nickname for Eleanor (Ellie also a nick- name)
