Owned "Herring Weirs" and "Smoke Houses' on Outer Wood Island.
Appointed local road master; also fisheries warden. In later years he
kept a little shop. He sold in shop tea, clay pipes, tobacco, candy,
school supplies. Built his home on Wood Island.
