In 1805 moved to Kentucky, in 1812 moved to Tennessee. James is said, to have been a Private in Captain John Mitchell's Company, Virginia Volunteer's, in the Revolutionary War. 2. 6 August 1827, in Cumberland County, Kentucky- His land on Walfe River. We find - "James Bristow's heirs to ________ Friend, namely James Bristow and Polly his wife; Elijah & Susannah, his wife; Wm Miller & wife Sarah (nee Bristow); Isaac Massey & his wife Elizabeth (nee Bristow); Wm Asberry & his wife ,late widow of James Bristwo, Wm Asberry, guardian to infant heirs" Isaac, Susannah, & Westley O. Bristow - 200 acres on Walfe River (Book #F (p.243) 3. There was an Elkins family in Stafford Co. and then in Henry Co VA. and later in Washington Co, VA. this may be the same family. 4. Child: Betty moved back to Cumberland KY.
NAME: Betty or Elizabeth NOTES: After husband died in 1820 she moved back to Cumberland County, Kentucky, in 1827 moved back to Overton County, Tennessee.

They moved to Macon County, Missouri and raised their children there. 2. Nanny (Nannie) Bristow deciede the decendants should be gathered into one record & when she died she left $1.00 to each, thus making it necessary to find all decendants. They used the money to publish the Booklet- Information furnished by Alta Stacy Irwin (Mrs. W.P. Irwin) of Lincoln (Nebraska?) now of Florida. 3. Nannie and Ed's son compiled the booklet.
He married Elizabeth Clevenger Abt 1796 at Overton, Tennessee . Elizabeth Clevenger was born at of Tennessee Abt 1775 .
