In Shelby was a merchant - owned Bank stock-. 1810 Census-Shelby County, Kentucky - James Age - Between 26 & 46. Might have died suddenly - he left no Will. How he died or where he is buried is unknown. He served during the War of 1812 -Private in Kentucky Mounted Volunteers. Promoted to Quarter master. He owned many acres of land - Many deeds.

About 1890 they moved to Frontier County, Nebraska. When his 2nd wife Sarah Ann died, he moved to Illinois. He was a stout, robust active man - lived an active life - moved to Missouri - 3 years before his death - lost his eyesight totally blind and helpless. 2. Francis Peyton Bristow, had 18 children, 55 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. From obituary read at his funeral. 3. Sarah Ann Adcock (Covey) maiden name: Tully or Tilly, a widow with children. 4. Child: Sarah fell from swing in an old apple tree, broke his back and did not live very long. 5. Child: Edward married and died Curtis, moved to Canada. 6. Child: Orville moved to Canada, afterwards- Wash. state Girard. 7. Child: Charles moved to Canada. 8. Child: Richard died shortly after mother. 9. Mary Jones died 18 months after marriage. 10. Francis Peyton Bristo, grandfather of Julia J. Bristow. 11. When Sarah Ann died, Henry Clay Bristow was a baby and with some help of an aunt, James Jackson Bristow undertook to bring up his brothers while his father was farming. He felt his father should have married sooner so they would have had a mother and when his father did mary the third time if left James free to get an education. James loved his step-mother and their children called her "Aunt Sarah".
He married Rebecca Jackson 3 Mar 1801 at Woodford, Kentucky . Rebecca Jackson was born at Amelia, Virginia 1785 .
