IGI NOTES: 1. Chester Bidwell and brother Anson Bidwell moved to Pittsburg, PA in about 1820 to pursue the mercantile business. 2. In 1830, Chester moved to Poland, OH where he ran mail coaches from Pittsburgh to Cleveland, Michigan and Poland. 3. In 1840, Chester moved to Warren, OH and continued merchandising. He retired some years later, residing on his farm nearby Warren, OH.

DeWitt Clinton Bidwell resided at Shady Side, a beautiful suburb of Pittsburgh. The Golden Wedding of his parents was celebrated at his residence, 6 May 1861. 2. DeWitt was a manufacturer and a merchant in 1849.
