In Kinderhook, He was an overseer of Highways, and he bought a farm of 240 acres, called Eyke Bouch - where he lived until he died - He was executer of his father's Estate. 3. Wife Sarah Penfield Bidwell was a nurse in the War of 1812 - she received a pension for her service. She married a second time at the age of nearly 80 years old to a Colonal William Potter (his second ) 4. Captain John Bidwell and Sarah Penfield Bidwell Potter were both buried in the Kinderhook Cemetery, Kinderhook , Colombia, NY
