NOTE:  Member of Safety committee - Gilmantown, NH - of the 5th generation in
descent from Gov. Thomas Dudley - of MA. Bay Colony. He took part in French and
Indian War - was one of original members and Deacon in the church at Gilmanton.
He was a Selectman and one of the committee of Safety.

NOTE:  He assisted in the construction of the 1st grist Mill at Gilmanton and
28 Oct. 1762, recieved cash for his labor #41 (James Dudley being the builder
of the grist mill) John Dudley was a prominent citizen and held many offices in
Gilmanton. He and bros. Daniel and Stephen, signed agreement in 1776 to oppose
British Fleets.
