      1. After marriage Rasselas and Mary resided at Rasselas Elk Co, PA.
      2. Rasselas joined the Baptist Church at age 18.
      3. Rasselas was a strong supporter of the Republican Party from the begining.
      4. Son, Jefferson was a Democrat in the House of Representatives in PA. He belonged to the Presbyterian Church.
      5. Son, William was a Baptist and a Republican in congress.
      6. Son, Isaac was a Repblican in the House of Representatives in PA. He belonged to the Episcopal Church.

NOTES:
      1. Jefferson Brown was a soldier in the Civil War.
      2. He was a prominent land surveyor.
      3. He had a banking house in Wilcox, PA, known as J.L. Brown & Co.
      4. He was Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church.
      5. He was a member of Pennsylvania House of Representation for Elk Co. 1881-1883. At the same time his brother Isaac was a member for Erie Co. and his brother Wallace was in Congress. They were all bound by brotherly affection but wereaccustomed to thinking for themselves. Jefferson had an unwavering allegiance tothe Democratic Party and the Presbyterian Church. Isaac was Republican and belonged to the Episcopalean Churh. Wallace was Republican and belonged to the Baptist Chuch.
      6. Jefferson Brown and his wife Amanda Merriam were cousins.

      4. A member of the 48th & 49th Congress 1883-1887 from PA.
      5. Was aid to Govonor Hartranft with the rank of Colonel.
      6. Has been recorder and district attorney of McKean County.
      7. City selicitor of Corry and Bradfor.
      8. Was 2 yrs. Auditor of war department.
      9. Now serving as Auditor of the Navy depertment in the treasury at Washington.
