Dennehy to Gene Vincent dated 6 Dec 1970 reads in part "Mary Gears, afterwards Mary Hunsinger, survived her husband and remarried a Grigsby. She died in 1853 age 98." Letter from Erma Cochran Dec 27 1961, reads in part "She died about 1861, over 100 years old and is buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, near Burnt Prairie, Ill."

White Co. History page 622, says Jacob Hunsinger came to White co. IL in 1818 and the first election in Burnt Prairie was in 1818 in the house of Jacob Hunsinger Sr one mile south of Liberty. Mrs Loren Harris (Esther) is in possession of the Ezekiel Hunsinger family bible. Ezekiel was the grandson of Mathias and Mary. The bible contained a list of Mathias and Mary's children and the names of their children's children. The list ends with the notation "four others not remembered". the 1850 Census of White Co. IL shows Jacob Hunsinger, age 77, born NC, residing in household #2027 with his son-in-law Charles Arterbury and wife Susan. Charles Atterberry's parents, John and Barbara were living in house #2074.
