White Co. History page 622, says Jacob Hunsinger came to White co. IL in 1818 and the first election in Burnt Prairie was in 1818 in the house of Jacob Hunsinger Sr one mile south of Liberty. Mrs Loren Harris (Esther) is in possession of the Ezekiel Hunsinger family bible. Ezekiel was the grandson of Mathias and Mary. The bible contained a list of Mathias and Mary's children and the names of their children's children. The list ends with the notation "four others not remembered". the 1850 Census of White Co. IL shows Jacob Hunsinger, age 77, born NC, residing in household #2027 with his son-in-law Charles Arterbury and wife Susan. Charles Atterberry's parents, John and Barbara were living in house #2074.

John and Nancy (Crowder) Hunsinger were the guardians of Maria Funkhouser, born 1835, the daughter of Calvin and Mary A. Funkhouser. Maria was willed land by her father who died Apr 1844, White Co., IL. Calvin Funkhouser's will also mentions a sucking child, Mathias Funkhouser, who was to go to Joel Calkin. Calvin Funkhouser was born ca 1814, he married 7 Jan 1835, Mary A. Crowder. He married second, 9 Mar 1841, Polly Harris. Joel S. Calkin married Celia Putney. Joel married second, Mrs. Nancy (Stanley) Jones. Maria Funkhouser is shown living with Jacob and Elizabeth (Shull) Hunsinger in the 1850 Census of White Co. IL> Maria died 11 May 1860. Maria married 12 Nov 1852, Aaron Thomas Atterberry, son of John and Barbary Atterberry.

The 1850 Census of White Co, IL shows: Charles W. Arterbury, aged 24 years, a farmer, born KY, with wife Susan Arterberry and son Ezekiel Arterberry. Also listed is Mary E. Watkins, the daughter of Susan and her first husband, Stephen Watkins. Mary was born ca 1847. In 1850 Charles and Susan are living next door to Susan's parents.
1860 Census shows Charles Arterbury, his wife Susan and Mary E. Watkins. Also lists their children: Ezekiel, Nancy, Stephen, Mariah, Aaron, Adam, and John. Living with them at that time was Susan's father, Jacob Hunsinger, 77 years old, born NC.
1870 Census shows Susan as the head of household, living with her children. It is unknown at this time if Charles had died or had gone to another state or county.
Tombstone indicates d. jan 2 1856 age 27y, 9m, 17d.
He married Elizabeth Shull Apr 1805 at Muhlenberg, Kentucky . Elizabeth Shull was born at Fayette, Pennsylvania 15 Sep 1786 daughter of Peter Scholl and Anna Dorothea Kinsley .
