                   NOTE:
    1. John Kortz came to Washington Co. around 1807. He was a cobbler and a blacksmith.  He belonged to the Leesburg Presbyterian Church.  He was also a Sergeant in the War of 1812. Capt. William McLins Co.. 12Oct 1813-8-Feb 1814. The East Tn. Militia commanded by Col Wm Lillard. His will was dated 1849, he died 1850, and his estate was settled in 1851.
