NOTES: Family Records indicate that Jesse's father may have come to the US in 1790 from Scotland. He was among the 1st settlers on Indian Territory (now) called Mt. Airy District at White Oak, Ohio) or Fayette County, Ohio. He first settled on 400 acres, not called States in those days, but cow paths. He came down the Ohio River on a raft and settled in that section which was then a wilderness. He built his home there and farmed. The site was on the line of Fayette Cunty and White Oaks, Ohio, now called Mt. Airy District. At his death, the farm was conducted by his son, Jesse Jones.
