                   Samuel Cross was in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.  He wasin Sumner County, Tennessee in 1795.  Afterwards in Wilson County, Tennessee.  Had land dealings in Iredell County, North Carolina on 15 February 1809 and 20 November 1812.  On 14 November 1814 in Wilson County, Tennessee, Samuel Cross sold 100 acres on a branch of Smith'sFork on the Caney Fork to William Leach (brother-in-law).

Court Minutes, 9 August 1786: Samuel Cross, age 15 yrs, 6 mo., orphan of Samuel Cross, deceased, bound to Robert Bogle to learn the trade of a taylor (tailor).
