Alfred G. PATTERSON
When her father's estate was being auctioned off, the story is told that there was one old favorite slave who wanted Sarah to buy him. As he walked up to the auction block he humped over and dragged one foot. As soon as Sarah made the winning bid of $75, he leaped high in the air and kicked his heels together. She later set him free. Buried in the Bethel (now called Mt. Carney) Cemetery.
He married Sarah Byerly Abt 1842 at of Virginia . Sarah Byerly was born at Virginia 1822 .
