                       OBITUARY - RUTH BARBER PARKIN

    Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at home,
    January 6, 1998.

    Ruth Barber Parkin was born February 15, 1905 in Centerville, Utah to Hattie
    Duncan and William Henry Barber. She attended schools in Davis County. She
    married Floyd Winegar Parkin, April 5, 1922 at the Salt Lake Temple. He died
    November 25, 1982. They worked hand in hand together growing fruits and
    vegetables until retirement. Ruth served in various church organizations. She
    was devoted to her family and was happiest when she was serving their needs.
    She especially loved her grandchildren. She was a superb cook and created many
    beautiful hand crocheted hankies.

    She is survived by a son, Floyd B. Parkin and wife, Eldora, Fruit Heights;
    daughter-in-law, Mrs. Wayne (Wilma) Parkin, West Bountiful; two daughters, Mrs.
    Lewis (Barbara Jean Provstgard, Bountiful; Mrs. John (Colleen) Hansen, San
    Jose, CA; 18 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 35
    great-great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Barber; two sisters, Mrs. Grover
    (Jenny) Ernsten, Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by  her husband; a
    son; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters.

    Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 1998, at 12 noon at the
    Bountiful 22nd Ward Chapel, 1475 North 300 West, where friends may call one
    hour prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
