Jacob BRIGHT

Jacob was born in Heidelberg Township, Lancaster County, PA. Heidelberg Township became Shaefferstown Lebanon County by dividing Lancaster County. Jacob went to Philadelphia and was married there. Infomation from "The Bright Family of Pennsylvania" by Margaret Gearhart. Unmarried. Jacob Bright Jr. served as Captain in Maj. Lewis Nicola's City Guards, Philadelphia Militia, 1776 - 1777. Sons of Revolution. P.A., 2nd XIII, 574. D.A.R. Lineage Book V, 297. He raised up 90 men and he with Christopher Pechin (a brother in law) financed these 90 men.

In Greens sketch he states on page 6 that Susanna was of Roxboro but there is no Roxboro, PA. Could it be Roxboro, North Carolina. There is record of them being married in the German Reformed church of Philadelphia 1 Feb 1751. (Green Page 3)
