                   Alexander Schaeffer founded the town of Schaefferstown PA and
in abt l800 the people named it Schaefferstown but before that it
was named Heidelberg TWP PA. Alexander has a lot writen about him
and his real estate holdings in Schaefferstown. The town or area was
known as Heidelberg Township before 1800.
       Floren Stocks Preece has given me a print out of two pages which
I have not put on this file. A. Schaeffer's wifes last name is not
known
we just have her first and second names.
       I received a book Pub. by the Pennsylvania German Society
"Records
of Purchases at the King George Hotel, Schaefferstown Lebanon County,
Pennsylvania 1762-1773." Pub 1987 page vi. Pages v to ix of the
introduction
has genealogy and history of Alexander Schaeffer and family: his
children,
his father (Hans Henrich Schaeffer), his mother (Anna Magaretha
Mayer),
his grandfather (Hans Schaeffer), his grandmother Anna Margaretha
Karg and
