    Maria Donelda said he worked as a sailor on the Great Lakes and also
    in

    Falls, Montana shows Julia's birthday as 3 May in Stillwater, Mn,
    where
    her mother, Mary Parent, was probably married about 1856.
    Records in St. Annes Church in Somerset, WI. show her parents as
    Isidore Cloutier and Mary Parent.
    Marie Donelda Hamlin, daughter of Narcisse Hamlin's second wife, said
    Julie was married about age 15 and died of tuberculosis. She thinks
    Julie

                       Ran away from home while a teenager and joined the army. He served
    in the Boxer Rebellion, Spanish American War and World War l. He  was
    wounded in the leg during WWl, but didn't know it until that night.
    It was
    a clean shot right thru the leg. He served with Captain "Blood and
    Guts"
    Patton. His rank was Sargeant Major or Master Sergeant. He retired
    from the service in 1920 just before his marriage .He was commander of
    both the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in
    Riverside.
    He drove a taxi for a while and worked for the Tip Top Laundry to
    supplement his retirement income.
    He loved to be active, enjoyed dancing and taught his children to
    swim.
    He died the day before his 54th birthday. His children were  5,9 and
    ll.
