Robert Leroy MILLS

                       There are three sources to confirm his birth date:
    1. The family Bible records held by Bill L. Mills.
    2. A copy of a family Bible record sent to me by my Aunt Eva.  It appears that the family Bible says that he was the great grandson of Calvin S. Clark, who was born in January, 1808 in _____, Mass.
    3. Death certificate
    Death information from Julia Marie (Mills) Myers 2110 Moffet,
    Joplin, Missouri 64804 from an October 24 1994 letter. She found this
    information "in newspaper on microfilm from Miami Library." The newspaper
    reported he died at 55 years old on September 19, 1938.

    I obtained the death certificate from Oklhoma on June 5, 1995.

    There appears to be a conflict on the marriage. His death certificate states
    that he was married to "Alice Mills", who was the informant to his death. I
    need to resolve what happened to Vergie May Macado.

    Johnny Buergey told me to write to Shorty Horner in Welch, Oklahoma
    to ask more information about Senior A. Mills. I wrote to him in August, 1995.

    2. Family Bible records from Eva A. Sparks (Mills).
    His death date is from the family bible copy from Bill L. Mills.
    There are death dates of Robert L. Mills, Cyntha A. Mills, Robert Randle Mills,
    Roland E. Mills, William Grant Mills, etc. It appears that the "R." in Robert
    R. Mills might be "Randle".

    His death date is confirmed by an October 24, 1994 letter from my third
    cousin, Julia Marie (Mills) Myers, who wrote, "Robert R. Mills, 32 years,
    October 5, 1917." Her source was "found in newspaper on microfilm from Miami
    Library."

    I wrote Oklahoma for the death cerfiticate. They wrote back on June 5, 1989
    and said they searched from 1908-1919 and could not find any death information
    on Robert R. Mills.
                  

                       The source of her Birth is from family Bible copies from Aunt Eva.
    Anna B. Mills was not on the 1910 Census. She is in the Mills family picture.

    The date of his death is from the family Bible by Bill L. Mills.
    The death date is confirmed by an Ocotber 24, 1994 letter from my
    third cousin, Julia Marie (Mills) Myers, who wrote, "Roland Mills -
    25 years old, died in Vinta Hospital, January 30, 1925". Her source was "found
    in newspaper on microfilm from Miami Library."

    I obtained the death certificate from Oklahoma on June 5, 1995.
    His death certificate states he was "single" when he died at age 35.
    The undertaker completed the death certificate.  There was no "informant" on
    the death certificate.

    On July 1, 1992 I spoke to Grandma Mills (Opal E. Mills) about
    William Grant. I had received a copy of the Reverend Robert L. Mills family
    picture from Bill Mills. William Grant's picture was superimposed. He was in a
    military uniform. I called Grandma and asked her what this was about. She told
    me that William Grant joined the army during WWI. The story is that he and some
    friends were at a party and decided to enlist. Ten of them went down and
    enlisted in the Army. In those days there was no waiting period and the Army
    took him immediately. His wife, Elsie Nora Jones had a child, Cecil Leroy Mills
    (who was two years old). William Grant did not know how to explain his joining
    the Army and wrote to his father and asked his father to explain to Elsie Nora
    Jones. He also asked Robert Mills to take his son, Cecil Leroy, and get a photo
    of mim made and send to him. Grandma told me that Robert Leroy and William
    Grant's letters are in the possession of Aunt Eva.
    The above information was confirmed by telecom with Aunt Eva on 7/5/92.
                  

                       The sources of her birth:
    1. 1910 census--Listed her as "Emma", age 16.
    2. Family Bible records from Aunt Eva.  She called her "Emma Jane" but the family Bible seems to name her "Elizabeth J."
    The Mills family picture has her listed as "Emmie".
    The death date is from the family Bible by Bill L. Mills.
    The family Bible refers to her as Ema Jane Samsel, which appears
    to be her married name.
    I ordered a death certificate from Oklahoma. They wrote back on June 8, 1995
    and said they searched from 1908-1919 on Emma J. Samsel and cound find no death
    information.
                  

                       The source of his date of birth:
    1. Family Bible copies by Aunt Eva.
    2. "Information for Family History" provided to me by John Buergey, who is related to Nellie Barbara Buergey, who was the wife of Lewis Leroy Mills.
    3. 1910 Census record, which confirms his birth in Missouri.
    The source of his date and place of birth is the information from
    John Buergey.
    Also, he had six children: Merle Eugene, Gerald Louis, Dortha May,
    Vera Louise, Richard Allen and Louis Leroy.

    His death date is confirmed as December 25, 1931 from the family
    Bible copy from Bill L. Mills.

    I wrote Oklahoma for a death cerfiticate. They answered on June 8, 1995 and
    said they searched from 1930-1936 and could not find any death information for
    Lewis L. Mills.

    I spoke to Johnny Buergy in August 1995. Johnny is Nellie B. Buegey's brother
    and Lewis L. Mills' brother-in-law. He said that Lewis Mills died of TB in the
    Veterans Hospital in Sulpher, Oklahoma. He has personal knowledge of the death.

    2. Family Bible copy from Aunt Eva.
    Johnny Buregy thinks that her married name was "Volgue" or "Volge"
                  

                       The source of information on this child's birth and death are from
    the family Bible from Aunt Eva and a letter from her to me stating that
    "Cynthia lived for 10 months".

    The death date is from Aunt Eva Elsie Mills Sparks, who copied it from the
    Clark Family Bible.
                  

                       Aunt Eva wrote a letter to me and told me that Robert Leroy Mills had a baby
    boy that died at birth. She did not have the name or the date of the infant.
