    from obituary in Houston Chronicle 26 Feb 1993-died Thursday at 12:14 a.m. in the Natchitoches Parish Hosp...a cattleman, native of Victoria, TX and has lived in Natchitoches Parish since 1955,..married for 62 years, was a Trustee of the Cypress Fairbanks School Board for 6 1/2 yers, was the Progressive Farmer Magazine's "Farm Family of the Year for 1955," and he was a board member of the South Texas Milk Products Association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lydia W. [Weiman] Thomas of Natchitoches, LA; two sons, Allen Thomas and his wife Garnet Thomas and Malcolm Thomas and his wife Becky Thomas all of them from Natchitoches; one daughter, Melba [Joy] and husband Jim Dixson of Atlanta, GA., two brothers, Loyd (sic.) Thomas of Lake Livingston, TX., and Charlie Thomas of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
