Lindley Cemetery, Sullivan County, MO Located in Sullivan County, just across border of Grundy County, Marion Township, on Apple Road about 2000 feet north of Vale Road. S15-T61N-R22W; 40.090N 093.363W. It is near Old Lindley, a pioneer settlement, which flourished in the early years of the county, then almost disappeared when railroads and highways missed it. The cemetery with two lovely pine trees in center of it, is high and sloping, well kept, well fenced (1965). Stones have been damaged and abused by vandals who broke and scattered them. There are several stones lying on the ground and broken. There is a plot to this cemetery, held in 1965 by Jobe Williams, south of Humphrey. The cemetery was recorded in 1965 by Mrs. B. F. Marylou passed away June 1939. Vet WW I. Stucker Cemetery, Grundy County, MO This cemetery is located in Wilson Township; S27-T60N-R23W. It is a large cemetery, about four acres, well mowed. A few stones are down, and others are loose in their mountings. There are wide areas in certain sections which have no markers, but it is assumed they are unmarked graves. A steel mesh fence runs around three sides of cemetery with its road side open. DIRECTIONS: From Trenton, go south on Hwy US 65 3.3 miles to the intersection of Hwy Z. Turn left(east) on Hwy Z, then immediately turn right on 60th Street SE (about 100 yards) at Stucker Cemetery sign. Cemetery is on right 7.6 miles. This son is buried there also. Donna Pat Triplett sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace" accompanied by organist Mrs Emma Gardner. Burial was in the Stucker cemetery, under direction of the Robertson-Lindley Funeral Home of Laredo. NOTES: October 2007 - All info from "findagrave.com". Obituary reads: Lloyd W. Mantlo dies at 75 Lloyd W. Mantlo, age 75, of 314 Calhoun, died at 1:20 a.m. today at Hedrick Medical Center. Mr. Mantlo was born January 4, 1902, in Grundy county, the son of Jefferson and Mary Fowler Mantlo. He grew up in Grundy county and was married November 24, 1928 in Chillicothe to Grace E Cooper, who survives. Mr. Mantlo had made his home in Chillicothe since 1948 and was employed for several years by the Chillicothe Lumber Co. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Lee Richardson, Milan; a grandson, Steve Tracy, Milan, and a brother George Mantlo, Laredo. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lindley Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
