Franklin MANTLO
NOTES: April 2010 - Looking on Ancestry.com in Tennessee State Marriages I found Franklin and Augusta's marriage. NOTES: August 2013 - Franklin age 14 is listed in the 1850 US Census with his father & siblings only. Franklin also listed in the 1860 US Census with father, step mom & siblings age 23 and a school teacher. NOTES: September 2013 - This info found in "Red River Settlers" Mantlo Little is known of the Mantlo family before they arrived in Robertson County, Tennessee. The name is so similar to that of the Croatoan Indian, Manteo, that it is only natural to wonder if the Mantlo family traces through Indian blood. In 1933, there was an old Bible in Springfield, Tennessee, in the possession of a descendant, which contained the following entries: (I will list only the info that pertains to the person on each PAF file) "Franklin Mantlo, born October 16, 1835." and " " " , " " " " married November 1, 1863, Emily A. Mantlo, born May 3, 1841 died July 19, 1889." NOTES: ****See Franklin Mantlo Bible paper I got from Robertson County Archives in my file under "copies from trip Oct 2013"
