SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER 221-01-4024
The original Social Security application November 30, 1936 indicates he worked for Edge Moor Iron Works. He was 53 years old when he applied and lived at RR#3 Wilmington Deleware. He wrote his middle name as Hoffman. He worked as a consultant for welding on the first nuclear submarine probably at Electric Boat Works, Groten , Connecticut. It was a secret operation at the time and he could not tell the family what he did, or where he went. We searched Natulius Submarine, Electric Boat Works, General Electric Nuclear submarines to find documents that might show his involvement. We also searched "Who's Who" for information, newspapers for submarine info. and Admiral Rickover. The first nuclar submarine used a double heat exchanger starting with liquie sodium, another solution then water to cool the reactors. So lots of welding.

He had a brother named Paul who was a seaman
