'ROUND William 28 Oct 1876 at Walton House, West Bromwich in his 81st year of his age. William Round (father of Elisha Round, Woolston), late of New Town, Staffordshire, England, deeply lamented by all who knew him.'

He was a blacksmith. The Lyttleton Times, N Zealand,of 5 Jan 1877 reads " Round, William, 28 Oct 1876 at Walton House,West Bromwich,Staffordshire,in his 81st year of age, father Elisha Round, Woolston, late of New Town, Staffordshire, England, deeply loved by all that knew him.( Is this the William in question ? by Tim and Liz Rattray.).

WILLIAM ROUND was baptised at St. Thomas, Dudley, Worcestershire, on the 10th April 1796.  He was a blacksmith and married Hannah Ball.  He died on the 28th October 1876, aged 80, at Walton House, Dudley Road, West Bromwich, perhaps the home of his daughter, Emma, and is buried at St. Peters, Greets Green, with his wife and son William.  The only children mentioned in his will are Emma, William, David, Elisha and Elijah.  Although Daniel was alive, provision was perhaps not made for him because of him being, presumably, better off than the rest of his siblings.
