Ambrose Burgess LITTLE

                      Ambrose Burgess Little liked to be called Burgess, not Ambrose.  He was born in West Blockton, Bibb, Alabama on 25 Oct 1873.  He met his wife Dora Fonde while she was attending college at Montevallo, Alabama.  He was working as a bank teller.  They married on the 24 Jan 1900 in Mobile, Alabama.  It is thought that they were married at the home of her parents, Henry and Lula Fonde, on Dauphane Street.  He was employed by Bush Grocery, a wholesale distributor, as a bookkeeper for many years until this company went out of business.  Later he worked for Vedsol Company, a material/clothing organization.  In his later years, he worked about 10 years for the Juvenile Court of Mobile as a clerk.
	He loved oysters with biscuits and molasses for breakfast.  He was a kind, warm person and I felt comfortable with him even as a young boy of 2 to 4 years old.  When he died, I remember my mother receiving the telephone call upon his death.  She was very sad.  This was my first experience with death, but it was long distance.
