                   NAME:
Jasper Jessie (John) LITTLE - Jasper Jessie aka Jessie Jasper

NOTE:
Jasper Jessie Little was a farmer in West Blocton, Bibb, Alabama.
He was a member of the 44th regiment Alabama Infantry, Company B, Confederate States Army and enlisted on 19 March 1862, at Scottsville, Alabama. This town at that time was a major point of commerce, with stores, river with bridge, railroad, and an amusement park. His name appears as signature to a roll of prisoners of War paroled at Fort Norfolk, Virginia, 29 June 1863, place not stated. The company muster roll for July and August of 1864, dated 20 Nov 1864, last on file, shows him present returned to duty 10 Nov 1864. He was surrendered by General Robert E. Lee, 1865. My grandmother told me he could never sleep with a blanket on his feet because they had been frozen during the military events while in the field during the Civil War. He was a drummer boy when he entered the Confederate Army during the Civil War. (note by Melvin Scott Jr.)
