NOTE: was born in Germany and came to Philadelphia on the ship "Pink Johnson" on 19 Sep 1732. He was a farmer and tanner in Berks County, PA. His tannery continued in the family for 150 years. He and many of the family were buried in the Christ Little Tulpehocken Church Cemetery near Bernville, PA. There are six more children not named in the will of 1766. They may have died before the will was made. Jacob Miller (Mueller) and his wife, Catherine Charlotte and two children immigrated to Pennsylvania from the Palatinate District of Germany in 1732. They settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania, where Jacob acquired a farm and set up a tannery. They were Lutherans and attended the Little Tulpechocken Church where both are buried in that old cemetery. A large marker is visible from the side of the road, (between Groff Road on Tannery Road). Its about 20 feet from the road and sits somewhat in a valley (ravine) and is located on the 5 acres of land used for the tannery. Foundation walls can be seen if you walk deeply onto the property. Winter is the best time to see things because of the overgrowth. Use a map for locating the marker. They came to America through the Port of Philadelphia on the Ship Johnson from London. See book Page 75 of 30,000 Names of Immigrants by Daniel Rupp and his wife Charlotte. It arrived in Philadelphia on the 19 Sep 1732. They settled in Tulpehocken Creek about 3 miles from Bernville, PA. Gov. Leslie Miller, a 3rd great Grandson of Jacob Miller, wrote a book entitled, Out of the Melting Pot.
