On 8 October 1928, Thomas Jefferson Ferguson, age 79 and son of William Milo and Elizabeth HOGAN Ferguson and husband of Missouri Anne HARRIS Ferguson died at Willow Springs. A partial obituary from the Willow Springs Advocate is as follows:
:Immigrated with his parents to Missouri in the fall of 1871, and settled near the present site of Willow Springs.  He was united in marriage to Missouri Anna (sic) Harris April 11, 1875. To this union eight children were born, four of whom are living, three being present at time of death.
He is survived by his wife and four sons: Oscar, Claude and Carl of Willow Springs and Ollis who resides in El Paso, Texas. In addition to this immediate family he is survived by a brother, D.S. Ferguson of this place and two sisters, Mrs. J.M. Harris, Blanchard, Oklahoma and Mrs. Price Byers of Tacoma, Washington also numerous other relatives and friends.

The cause of death of Thomas Jefferson Ferguson was listed as Valvuler                on the Death Certificate which was signed by Dr. S.E. Haycraft.

Partial obituary from the Willow Springs News issue of 28 September 1938 is as follows  "Oldest Citizen Dies Friday - - -One of Willow Springs' oldest citizens, Mrs. Anne Ferguson, died at the home of her son, Carl Ferguson, here Friday at the age of 78 years, on Sep 23 1938.
With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Harris, she moved to Willow Springs in 1868 when she was seven years old. Their former home was at Birch Tree where she was born on Feb. 7, 1861, and named Missouri Anne. In 1875 she and Thomas J. Ferguson were married and to them eight sons were born. Mr. Ferguson died in 1928 and only three of the sons are living at present, Carl Ferguson, with whom she made her home, Oscar Ferguson, also of Willow Springs and Ollis Ferguson of Hobbs, N.M. The five sons preceding her were Sanford, S., Arthur E., Alfred C., E. Claude, and Alton T. She is also survived by one brother, Richard J. Harris of Polson, Mont., several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
